La veille de la fête nationale 2014 au Grand-Duché du Luxembourg

C'était donc hier soir.  Il faisait très beau.  Mes filles, mon mari et moi avons vu la Princesse Stéphanie dans sa voiture et elle nous a fait un petit coucou.  Très sympa!  Tout le monde était concentré football ce soir-là.  Puis nous avons vu toute la famille grand-ducale place de Paris.  Nous nous sommes arrêtés dans le coin pour prendre des gaufres et quelques jus de fruits.  Pour finir, nous avons vu le feu d'artifice d'une rue située à l'arrière du palais Grand-Ducal et ce n'était pas un succès, franchement, comme vous le voyez!  Il paraît qu'il faudra encore deux ans pour qu'on puisse le revoir du pont habituel.  Il y avait apparemment des navettes pour aller au feu d'artifice.  Si j'en entends parler, je vous tiens au courant.

The evening went on quite all right.  My daughters, my husband  and I saw Princess Stéphanie who waved at us nicely.   Then we crossed the non permanent bridge to see the parade, just before it started.  The whole family and friends of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg were Place de Paris to see the parade.  Later on we went to see the firework and it wasn't a success from where we were placed.  We can't wait until the firework is taken back from the old bridge that is being renewed!  There were shuttles to take us to the place were the firework was.  I will enquire and maybe next time that's what we'll do and where we'll go to see the firework.  In the meantime, our next firework is in Grevenmacher at the wine festival on July 11th or 12th and I will give you information concerning the wine festival plus some photos later on, closer to the time.  Plus the fireworks will be taken from the new bridge and I can't wait to see it from there.  We missed it last year because we were in Thailand for once in our lives..

Exposition de parapluies au Grand-Duché du Luxembourg

Cela fait penser aux parapluies de Cherbourg ou à Mary Popins.  Très romantique!  C'est une initiative de l'"Association rue Philippe II" et c'est dans la rue en question.  Très bonne idée!  tout le monde adore ça et prend des photos.  Heureusement que ce projet se fait maintentant alors qu'il fait chaud et très sec (les jardins n'en peuvent plus.  On a de l'herbe jaune partout en cette période de l'année!).  Je me demande ce qu'ils vont faire de tous ces parapluies quand le projet sera terminé.  Les revendre et reverser l'argent récolté à une association, comme la Croix-Rouge par exemple?  On a de la chance de vivre dans un pays sans ouragans.
It is a project from the "Association rue Philippe II" and there was a little article about it on page 80 ( Luxembourger Wort dating of June 20th, 2014).  Everybody likes it!
